Many thanks for all the get well soon messages - you certainly find out who your friends are when on your death bed. It is highly appreciated when tied to a drip, surrounded by illness, going stir crazy as British summertime passes by the window in the form of dark grey clouds, and rain on glass.
The Czechs, it seems, didn't get their diagnosis quite right because further investigation by UK doctors found nothing much wrong with the heart and no sign of a heart attack as the Czechs had 'guessed'. Makes you wonder about the medical profession, huh?
My problem is high blood pressure and abuse of the kidneys, which has led to an enlarged pancreas which has now, via drugs, been reduced to normal size. My GP has concluded an aggressive infection somewhere along the line of life, maybe caught in India, maybe elsewhere where large crowds of people gather in busy yet contained places such as airports, trains, pubs, shopping malls ... who knows? Just walking past an infected person who coughs in your direction can cause it, and in my case the booze hasn't helped at all. I remember a previous quite serious viral infection I had about 8 years ago, caught at a football stadium in Kuwait City.
After 10 days in Lincoln hospital being pumped full of minerals and drugs, tended to by naturally friendly, ultra positive nurses, who are angels, I was released last week back into the big wide world, or more precisely my mother's beautiful green garden. Home sweet home where the hoot of an owl, the wag of a dog's tail or a fresh breeze off farmland can do wonders for the happiness of the soul. Food has suddenly become unbelievably delicious, especially fruit - strawberries! - washed down by cups of tea that feel like medicine in themselves, and I'm putting weight back on almost as fast as it dropped off. Time for more toast!
Here's to recuperation by positive thinking and meditation, hopefully under warmer skies.
