Almost any place I went on this 2600km (approx) trip there was cricket being played from dawn to dusk and beyond. On a bus, through the giant green leaves of banana trees, I spied village lads enthusiastically chasing the ball, pinging down a fast delivery or attempting to smash it into Pakistan. In the suburbs and ghettos of the cities I saw the same scene, morning noon and night, and so it comes as no surprise that the Indian national team is one of - if not the best - cricket sides in the world, because practice makes perfect.
